Day 14 - Doubt to Hopefulness

I am so excited! My 12 year old niece and 13 year old nephew are arriving today to stay with us for 5 weeks or so. I am really looking forward to it but I have to tell you that the anticipation of their visit has kicked up a lot of financial concerns for me this past week!

My unconscious mind immediately goes to worry about how we're going to afford everything they want to do and that everything will all of a sudden double the cost, etc. These thoughts are
obviously limiting and not in alignment with the experiences I want us to have so here is some of the rambling I did to help myself come more into alignment with how I want to feel.

The situation - I am worried about affording the cost of my niece and nephew who are coming to stay with us for 5 weeks. I want to be able to do all kinds of fun stuff with them... take them to Disneyland, the zoo, surfing, wake boarding, etc not to mention some lunches and dinners out but I am worried about the expensive ticket prices, fuel & parking costs of the excursions and doubling the cost of groceries, etc.

What do I want? I want to connect with my niece and nephew and have lots of fun with them. I want to go on lots of fun adventures and not worry about the cost. I want to feel abundant and free to do whatever our hearts desire :)

My effort to soothe myself...

Well at least the beach is free to go to. We could do that everyday and they would probably be happy. We don't have to dine out very much. We could have fun dinner parties at home. There are some free things to do in San Diego. My friend Gail told me about free Tuesdays at the museums in Balboa park... and my friend Ron gave me 4 free passes for the fair. The universe does work in mysterious ways. Maybe we could get other tickets for free too. Maybe we will win some free dinners. Maybe some enexpected money will show up from somewhere.

I'm pretty good at finding deals on the internet. I'm actually quite lucky. As I stay in alignment and feeling good, my inner being will guide me to the right place at the right time to get the best deals. I always find a way to pay for the things that I really want to do. Maybe I can make a game of setting intentions each day with them. We can brainstorm the things we want to do and how fun they will be and see what we can manifest every day.

This will be fun... I will enjoy showing Jonathan and Jessica how the law of attraction works, how the possibilities are endless when you focus on the things that you want while feeling good and not offering any contradictory thoughts.

I'm really looking forward to seeing them. I can't wait to see their smiling faces and see how much they've grown over the last 6 months. We're going to have a lot of fun together.

Day 12... A Great Manifestation Story

This true story is so funny I just had to share. I have a lifelong friend who has heard about the law of attraction from me many times but was mostly sitting on the fence of whether or not it's true and can be leveraged to create your dream life or not.

The story began a couple of weeks ago when she called me in an upset and agitated mood. She was trying to rent 2 portions of her Vancouver home quickly and due to technical difficulties with her blackberry, she missed an important email from people who were interested in renting her top space for 3 months. By the time she got the email message and got back to them... they had rented something else and she was feeling extremely bummed about it.

Enter our conversation. I told her that it was probably for the best that it didn't work out with them... that they were probably high maintenance or something else would not have been ideal. That her perfect renter(s) were around the corner and her only job is to decide and focus on who her perfect tenant would be. My friend is a bit of a comedian and definitely knows what she wants in that area so without missing a beat she says... “oh ya, well my perfect tenant is a young, hot, single guy with a six pack who loves to travel and wants a partner to do it with… and oh ya who also wants to rent my place for 3 months or more”!

So I said, perfect... whatever you want... just put your order in and dream what it will be like to meet him and have him rent your place. Then the conversation moved on to another topic. She was still a little bummed about missing the call from the people who were interested so after we hung up... I sent her a link to a silly video I made of me laughing for 5 minutes. I thought she would get a kick out of it because my laughter was really genuine.

She emailed me back in tears of laughter saying thanks that she was feeling better and that I was probably right about the missed opportunity... after all, they could have called her if they really wanted the place.

Fast forward to a couple of days ago when I got a voicemail from my friend saying "you're NOT going to BELIEVE this... guess who I'm meeting tomorrow?"... turns out it's her new tenant... a young, hot, wealth guy her age who just broke up with his girlfriend and has a six pack!!! (As confirmed by his assistant arranging the rental).

I'm not making this up :) She said... okay I'm a believer... sign me up for whatever you've got! This law of attraction stuff is amazing! Hahaha... isn't that a great story?

Two key things happened here. She had a desire that she got clear about and because of how the discussion was, she offered in a light hearted way… kind of like pipe dream, so there was no attachment to it.

Secondly, she got into the vortex in a big way shortly after the contrast of missing the first renter. Where normally she may have held on to that disappointment for days, she was able to let it go within an hour of it happening and was optimistic that she would find someone else soon.
It took just over a week from then for her pipe dream tenant to flow into her life and more importantly, into her house :)

Day 10 - The Focus Wheel Process

Hello Everyone! Today's post will explain what a focus wheel is and how you can use it to help you climb up a few vibrational notches ;)

This process is just another way of achieving the desired result we've been discussing for the last 10 days. All of the exercises we discuss have the same goal however everyone resonates differently with different approaches, so if you've been having some difficulty in shifting your vibration through walking yourself up the emotional scale... try this approach.

A friend of mine let me know about this site where someone wonderful took the time to create a blank focus wheel that you can print and use @ http://oneword.com/ah/focuswheel.pdf. Thank you Arvind Singh!

On this page you will see a large circle with 12 sections in it and a smaller circle in the center. In the center circle, write down what you want to achieve or manifest (how you want to feel).

Picture the circle as a merry go round that is spinning. Your goal is to find a thought that feels better than you do currently but is moving slow enough that it enables you to jump on the merry go round without being thrown off into the bushes.

If you choose a thought that is too far away from where you are currently feeling, it's vibrating too fast so you won't have vibrational access to it. Meaning, you can feel whether or not it causes you to feel a little better or a little worse. If you don't really believe it, then it is not a good thought to write down at this time.

When you find a thought that feels like relief and is moving towards what you've written down in the center, then write it down in one of the sections. Then aim to find another thought that you believe that is moving in the same the direction as well.

The idea is to work your way around the circle with better and better feeling ideas until you've moved the way you feel to match how the desire feels in the center of the page.

Sound a little confusing? Okay... here's an example of how I have used the focus wheel exercise.


In the center circle - What I want : To Develop PlayfulLiving.com into a playful, interactive community where people from all over the world can connect and have fun expanding their consciousness while creating the life of their dreams!

How I currently feel: Overwhelmed. I don't know where to start. I don't know the first thing about building a highly technical, interactive website... I don't have a lot of money to spend on building a website right now. (Holy limiting beliefs :-)

1st attempt to jump on the wheel - I can do anything I want to do. Ouch (I just landed in the bushes... this thought is too far away from how I'm currently feeling).

2nd attempt - I guess I don't need to know where to start. Yay, I'm on the wheel... that thought caused me to feel relief.

Section 2 on the wheel - I know that before anything manifests, it starts out as a thought. Yay... that feels better!

Section 3 - I guess I don't really need to take action on anything until I feel inspired to do so.

Section 4 - I trust in the law of attraction. I know that if I keep thinking about what I want and why I want it, the universe will inspire me with the right thoughts.

Section 5 - Maybe I will attract a web designer who knows how to build what I'm looking for.

Section 6 - What am I going to put on the website that will be so great? Ouch... I'm off in the bushes again... that one didn't feel better at all.

2nd attempt - I don't need to know all of the steps to take right now. Yay... I'm back on the wheel!

Section 7 - Just like I don't need to eat all of the food I'm ever going to eat right now... I don't have to know every step I'm going to take to make my site phenomenal right this very instant.

Section 8 - If I pay attention to how I'm feeling, I bet my inner being will guide me to the inspired action I should take along the way.

Section 9 - I hope that my site will be successful and people will get a lot out of using it. - This one was iffy... makes me feel a little doubtful...

2nd attempt - I know I would LOVE to have a fun online community with tools that I could use to build my knowledge and confidence. That feels better!

Section 10 - More and more people are awakening to the knowledge that they have the power to create the life they want.

Section 11 - There are plenty of people who would get so much use and enjoyment from a supportive, playful online community.

Section 12 - I am sure that as I continue to dream of what I want... it will come together piece by piece and before I know it, I will be the creator of the world renowned online community www.PlayfulLiving.com!

Now that feels absolutely fabulous!!!

Day 9... A Powerful Realization

Something dawned on me this morning that I want to share with you. I am excited about a visit from my nephew and niece next week who are coming to stay with us for quite a few weeks. They are 13 & 12 respectively and they are such wonderful kids! I found myself getting caught up in the idea of wanting to teach them so many things and "fix" the way they think about life.

Then I realized that there is nothing to fix! There is nothing wrong. It came to me that trying to fix the things in my life is a habitual way of how I think. And when I'm focused on trying to fix things, it brings me more things that I need to fix! That is a huge realization for me!

So my new intention and focus for what I would like to experience with Jonathan and Jessica is FUN! I intend for us to share a lot of fun, laughter and love during our time together! No problems... just good times :)

I'm bringing this up because I think you may also be focused in a manner that is keeping you in a pattern of circumstances that is less than pleasing to you.

There never is anything wrong... because nothing is permanent. There is no need to worry because we can change anything we want at any time. The reason we tend to panic and think that we are stuck is because we've been thinking the same patterns of thought for a long time which has continued to produce the same kinds of results for us. Which makes us think that we can't change. Well... we didn't know then what we know now.

It doesn't have to take a long time to change things. Now that you know or are acquiring this new knowledge of how your focused thought and corresponding emotions are your guide to whether or not you're moving towards or away from things that you want, it will take much less time to get the results you desire.

Everything just is... how we feel about it is what makes it good or bad. So maybe if we could shift our perceptions to that of appreciation for the contrast because of the clarity and expansion it brought us (about what we are focused on in that situation) our vibration would shift and so would the quality of things coming to us. Does that make sense to you?

You never know quite as clearly what you DO want until you know what you don't want. Life is always going to have contrasting situations that present themselves. It's how expansion happens. Without contrast we wouldn't grow and as energetic beings it is our purpose to expand (joyously I might add :) It's just the way it works. The universe would not be eternal if everything was not continually expanding.

The focus of this 30 day adventure is to raise our vibration so that we are attracting better quality circumstances (and contrasts) so that it's easier and easier to find the emotion of appreciation daily.

Day 8 - A String of Thoughts...

WOW... thanks for sharing in the comments section everyone! It's so inspiring to hear your stories and see how we are all gaining more awareness about how we're feeling throughout the day... and even catching ourselves in the middle of feeling bad and turning it around! It is not always as easy as it sounds to choose the better feeling thought.

Yesterday, I found myself telling an old story to my husband and mom in law over lunch. We took a small road trip to Palm Dessert together and it reminded me of a trip I took there with a friend years ago... and that reminded me of this friend who I haven't spoken to much since then... which reminded me of the wierd and abrupt end to our relationship which left me feeling bad. So funny how I could be happy and feeling great one minute and feeling some guilt in the next minute... with not one thing changing except my thoughts... and therefore my vibration.

The good news is... I was able to shrug the bad feeling off during lunch and then rambled (on paper) on the drive home until I felt a lot better :)

How many times do we all do that in a day? One thought leads to another which leads to another and before you know it, you're reliving something in your mind that you wish hadn't happened in the first place? For me it's too often... and it just gives me even more insentive to carry on deliberately with cleaning up my vibration.

I know that as we continue to focus on improving the thoughts we think and caring more about how we feel, the easier it gets to catch our train of thought sooner and steer it in a direction that feels much better... which in turn brings better feeling things into our lives!

I LOVE knowing that! How about you?

Day 5... Leveraging Your Universal Manager

One of my new favorite tools of Abraham Hicks that I've been using a lot lately is called the placemat process. It helps me when I'm feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to proceed or when I want inspiration throughout my day. It's also just a great way to prepave fun, awareness, safety, speed, efficiency, etc.

Here's how I've been using it... divide a blank page in two. On one side write down your to do list of things that you plan to do today. On the other side of the page write down what you want your universal manager to take care of. Your universal manager is like your magic genie in a bottle.

When I first heard about this process I was a little skeptical about how it could work... I mean really... is my universal manager going to write sales copy for me? Well... probably not, but what my universal manager could do for me is provide me with the inspiration, uninterrupted time and knowledge so I can write my own phenomenal sales copy easily.

One of the great side effects of playing with the placemat process is that it gets you to really think about what you want and why you want it. With a little practice, you start asking better questions of your universal manager. For instance, instead of asking "help me to decide what to do" you may want to ask "please help me to feel what is the best action to take that will bring me a sense of lasting joy" or "please help me to find the perfect person to help me build my business" or "please bring to me, people who are ready to hear my message" or "please provide me with more awareness around beliefs that are getting in the way of more joy", etc. It's getting specific about how you want to feel and what you want to accomplish while being general about how it will unfold.

If anyone has more examples of how this process works, please share them. Hope you find this process as helpful as I do!

Day 4 and Money...

Sometimes I get distressed about not being able to afford everything I want to do. Like I am never going to get to the point I want to be. That I'll always have to settle in going without all of the beautiful clothes, objects, beach houses, cars, gifts for others, accessories, gourmet food, pampering and success that I desire... (I have some BIG plans).

The feelings associated with that line of thinking are frustration and impatience... so I'm going to ramble here with the intention of finding my footing around hopefulness and maybe even positive expectation, belief.

Why is it taking me so long to receive the money I know I'm worthy of? I know how this universe works so I should be able to manifest the life I want NOW. I should've had it by now. Maybe I'm not doing it right. What if I never do it right? What if I never get it? What if I'm stuck here always? There's so much I want to do and I can't seem to make it happen. Well... what if that's the point? What if I'm trying too hard at this? What if it were really easy to attract money? What if the trick is to relax and get excited about it coming? Well I do trust in these universal principles. I do believe that I can be, do and have anything I want.

I've just developed the habit over the years of limited thinking. I didn't know back then what I understand now. If I’m being honest with myself… I'm doing really well actually. I lead a very blessed life. I'm happy about 75% of the time. And I'm getting happier all the time. I have a wonderful life... my perfect partner... a great home in a great city, the opportunity to do what I want for a living... wonderful friends and family, fabulous weather and scenery... I get to attend workshops to expand myself, work with mentors to learn leading edge practices... I have a supportive network of people who understand me (read you :) A husband who loves and respects me... who I get along with famously! My awareness has expanded so significantly in the last 3 years. I get to learn and implement almost everything I'm interested in. I do have frequent glimpses of how wonderfully my life is unfolding.

In fact, except for some old patterns of thought (impatience) that pop up occasionally, I'm feeling pretty confident and excited about where I'm headed. And thanks to this 30 day adventure, I'm replacing those old limiting beliefs with new empowering ones like these! It’s only a matter of practice and alignment to receive the physical manifestations that I desire. So I will spend more time appreciating the wonderful things I do have with the positive expectation that as I raise my vibration and be happy with where I am… the law of attraction will work its magic to bring me everything I want that I’m a vibrational match to.

I'm feeling MUCH better already... how about you?

Day 3...

Greater expansion begins with awareness, so you may notice more negative thoughts popping up this week than before. When you catch them... instead of feeling bad about yourself that you're so negative... see if you can reach for the feeling of appreciation for your ability to notice your habitual thoughts. Give yourself a pat on the back for your greater awareness... after all it's taken you your whole life to form how you think about the world, so it's bound to take you a little time to change old thought patterns.

Be gentle with yourself! You are exactly where you are supposed to be. Just relax with the knowing that really good things lie before you.

At first, you'll probably just notice how negative your thoughts can be after you've said them. Then you may notice something negative as you are saying it. Each time you're aware of a negative thought, do the 4 step process to help you feel better. It may take quite a few sessions of writing or talking yourself up the emotional scale. No matter how many times it takes though... you will start feeling better.

As you change the chronic vibration you are offering to the universe on every topic that's important to you, you will attract better feeling manifestations in all areas. You will have shifted the vibrational frequency you're offering so law of attraction HAS TO bring you experiences that match what you're offering now. That's the way the law of attraction works... It must be. Isn't that SOOOOO good to know?


Before you know it, you'll be catching your negative thoughts before you say them and you'll just hold your tongue, you know the old adage, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all :)

Once you master that skill, get ready for it cause it will come soon... that old, not so good feeling thought won't even come to your mind because you've done so much vibrational "work" on it that you've replaced the negativity with a much better feeling thought. Once that happens, look out world! Everything you've been wanting around that topic will begin flowing into your experience with greater and greater intensity!

That's the plan... are you in?

Day 2...

I found the following thoughts swimming around my mind today:

I don't know what to write on the blog... should I do more videos? Do I share the intimate details of my life? Do I send out emails every morning? What if what I say or write sounds stupid...? What will people think? My friends and family are going to think I'm crazy... that I've gone off the deep end living in California vibrational lala land...

Not very productive thoughts and definitely not focused on what I want to accomplish in this adventure together. Ahhhh.... an opportunity to clean up my vibration :)

Okay so what do I want?

I want to focus on what I want to happen with confidence and expectation that it will improve my life drastically. I want to feel good. I want to inspire others to create the quality of life they've always wanted. I want to consciously focus my mind in one direction without second guessing myself or thinking self defeating thoughts.

Emotions associated with these unwanted thoughts range from doubt to lack of confidence in my abilities.

How do I want to feel right now? Hopeful... optimistic.

Here it goes...

This way of thinking is an old habit of mine. I can form new habits with some consistent practice. It doesn't matter if I do things "perfectly" or not. Who knows what's perfect anyway? I'm a smart girl... I'll figure something out. I'll just listen to my intuition. I bet even the most powerful people second guess themselves sometimes. I'm getting better every day at focusing my thoughts on what I want. It doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks about me. What matters most is that I feel good about what I'm doing.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their opinion doesn't have to effect me. I'm the one who decides how I feel. I bet most of the judgment I'm worried about is going on inside my own head. Most people are really supportive and nice with me. I believe whole heartedly in the power of focused thought and the perfection of our emotional guidance system. I am so happy that I know about my internal guidance. That I'm the only person who knows what's right for me and you are the only person who knows what's right for you. How awesome is that!?!

I'm feeling better already. I'm just going to go with the flow and any time I feel myself contemplating how things won't work or concerning myself with others opinions of me... I'm just going to pick up where I left off with this conversation. I hope that everyone who participates in this 30 day adventure notices amazing improvement in how they're feeling daily and experience undeniably positive results from their deliberate effort to clean up how they feel on every topic surrounding them.

I'm feeling lighter already!

Hello Friends!

Welcome to day one of our 30 day adventure to deliberately clean up our chronic vibrational patterns!

Today I made a list of old memories that when I think of them, cause me to feel bad. My day is going really well so I started from my place of peace, and tacked my not so pleasant memories... I was much easier than starting from the middle of an unpleasant situation.

It's great to start with a memory because you've had time to put some distance between you and the situation and hopefully have more perspective on it now. I found that I could easily walk myself to a much better feeling place by finding appreciation for the lesson I learned, the fact that I would not be quite the same without it and the realization that I was doing the best I could with what I knew at the time.
